I have “unknowns” coming up in my microbiology work class. I’m confused as to what is expected of me.

hmmm. you’re gonna have to be much more specific than that. What Microbiology lab?

  2. Asst Prof says:

You will be expected to identify “unknown” organisms with reference to some criteria your instructor tells you, like their shapes, their Gram- stain characteristic, etc. You may be given 5 tubes of unknown organisms and told to write down which tube(s) contains G+ and which contan G- organisms.

It tests whether you’ve gotten any practical information out of what you’ve done in lab…
