We did an experiment on environmental samples and we had to take samples using various items thru the college such as home keys, waterfountains, toilet bowls and things like that. After we swabbed these items using a sterile cotton swab we place it on an agar plate and incubate it for 7 days…I need ideas of a hypothesis stament plz help me I am so lost

u need to ask a question 1st
such as: Are items that are touched more times a day have more bacteria??
Ex. Hypothesis: Items that are touched more often in a day carry more bacteria because a common way for bacteria to be transmitted is through human touch.

Man of Ideas is correct.
Start with a question. For example (as he stated) – do items that are interacted with more frequently more contaminated with bacteria compared to items that are less frequently used? Your hypothesis would then read – Items that are touched more often during the day will contain higher levels of bacteria.
Another possible question:
Do different items throughout the college contain different types of bacteria? Your hypothesis might be: All items which are interacted with by humans will have bacterial contamination however the type of bacteria will be different based on the type of interaction (ie holding keys in your hand vs sitting on a toilet seat or drinking from a water fountain).
Another possible hypothetical question might be: Do items associated with water have higher counts due to an environment conducive to replication?
